2 Months Old...ALREADY????

I'm not real sure where the time has gone, but Finn is now 2 months old. I went back to work and Finn started school at Noah's Park. I do love his teachers, but I miss him so much during the day.

Happy Birthday to Cousin Parker!

Finn's favorite 4 year old cousin had his birthday party at the park on a chilly Saturday morning. Finn stayed warm in his owl hat and cozy stroller. I did manage to get him to wake up a little to show off his baby blue eyes.
Happy Birthday to you Parker! We love you!

Be Afraid, Be VERY Afraid!

This year Halloween was more special than ever, thanks to our baby boy. Our day started off with spooky pancakes.

Finn's first Halloween was a lot like my wedding. He had 3 wardrobe changes.
First, he was Grover. We chose Grover because when Joey was a baby, he was shy and liked to wear a Grover mask.
Second, Nana and Grandaddy bought Finn a skeleton costume. We were sure it would be way to big for him, but since he's such a milk dud, it fit like a glove!

And finally, the last wardrobe change for the evening was his skull and crossbones costume.
We stayed home and watched the Bama game and the Mississippi State game and had chili. We only had a few trick or treaters, but we definitely had our Best Halloween yet.

Baby Westover has arrived!

After 10 months of carrying little Finn around in my tummy, he made is debut on September 2, 2010 at 6:18 pm.

My doctor and I decided to induce so I checked into Brookwood Hospital at 6:30 am. Dr. Barron broke my water and started me on the Pitocin, which quickly introduced me to a "real" contraction. I thought I had been having contractions for the last week or so, but realized those were Braxton Hicks contractions once I felt the real thing.

I waited until around 10 and then was introduced to a mighty nice man, Dr. Nag. He gave me not only one epidural, but 2 epidurals and I didn't feel a thing. He is my new best friend :) He was that day anyway.

9 hours later, I was only 5 1/2 centimeters dilated so it was agreed that a C-section was the way to go. This made me somewhat nervous because I had not read up on C-sections. I had researched vaginal deliveries like a crazy woman, and me being one who hates not being in control, got a little nervous as they wheeled me down the hallway to the operation room.

Well, less than 30 minutes later, I was introduced to the most beautiul creature I've ever seen. I instantly fell in love.
I can't really describe how it felt when the nurse put him in my arms. Yes, it was instant love, but it was a different love than I've ever felt before. Having him in my tummy was a miracle, but having him in my arms is indescribably perfect.
I am so blessed. I have the most perfect husband, who I thank God for every night. And together we made the perfect little person. It makes me get goose bumps and I tear up just thinking about how happy I am!

Birmingham Couples Shower

Our neighbors, Daniel and Jennifer Carter, and our very close friends Jennifer Harris and Wes Haisten, threw us a couples shower right here in our neighborhood. It was a complete blast! We had great food...
Wes cut up some yummy watermelon.
Daniel grilled some sliders and Buffalo chicken sandwiches.
And Jennifer served lemonade in mason jars with red and white striped straws. SO CUTE!!!

We played a game where Joey and I had to change a diaper on a baby doll. We were timed and I just knew I had this! There was no way Joey could beat me at something I've done a million times in my life. (unlike Trivia)

Joey and Reece are buddies...

He's going to be the best daddy!!!

I had no idea I was this huge until Wes took this picture. Unreal.

The boys played cornhole while the girls stayed close to the air conditioner. It was a great night with fantastic food and fun friends! I am truly blessed!!!

Birmingham Baby Shower

My also pregnant sister in law, Lucy, planned the most amazing baby shower for Finn and I this past weekend. I saw friends that I haven't seen since high school and we had family from Mobile and Mississippi come spend a wonderful afternoon talking, giggling and enjoying a beautiful day.

I couldn't find my camera until towards the middle to end of the shower so I am waiting to get more pics from friends and family. The food was so good and everything was decorated so nice! The flowers were gorgeous and the company was perfect!

Thank you Lucy, Sue, Jenny, Jeanine, Kelly, Cheryl and Nicky! I love you all so much!

I'm Tirty Tree!

Yesterday was a big day! I turned another year older.
A group of us went to Huck's Place for dinner and even though I'm 32 weeks preggo, I had a blast! It was loud, the food was great and the conversation had everyone all smiles!
P.S....I love this man with all my heart!
The next morning we celebrated my special day over pancakes and Joey gave me the Storksak Emily bag thatk I've been pining over...

We cooked out later in the afternoon and went swimming at my dads house. We got great sun, had homemade strawberry ice cream, and spent even more quality time with my friends and family. Before we left to come back to Birmingham, Mom and Dad gave me a new tv stand which I love. Pictures soon to follow.
